National Trust

We were asked to redesign the National Trust Intranet to meet their strategic objectives of “putting their properties at the heart of the organisation”.

The existing intranet had inconsistencies in the look and feel and tone of voice, as well as issues with the quality and depth of content and information architecture. The breadth of usability issues rendered the intranet difficult and time consuming to use.

Through our user-centred approach we created an intuitive and usable intranet – and the first of many channels to adopt the new National Trust brand. The design encapsulates our user research, providing employees with a tool they can use every day to learn, share and collaborate.

Testimonial

Applied Works made it a real pleasure working with them, providing just the right balance of team work and guidance. We added a number of additional challenges during the course of our Intranet redevelopment project, including an organisational brand refresh. Applied Works worked with the brand company at a very early stage of their project to deliver the new intranet design as the first encounter staff had with the new brand styling. The Applied Works team took all the challenges in their stride which ensured our confidence in achieving the project aim never wavered. We now have a relationship with Applied Works that we will continue, and develop, into the future.
